PRIVACY NOTICE

Last updated: 1 November 2026

1. Who I am

I am Erdjan Eker, a sole trader trading as Patternist Hypnotherapy. I am the person responsible for your personal information. You can contact me at hello@patternist.co.uk. I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller.

2. What information I collect

  • When you send an enquiry: your name, email address, country, a short note about what you would like help with, and how you prefer to be contacted.
  • If we work together: your contact details, your health and personal history, your goals, and notes about our sessions. Some of this is health information, which is treated as special category data.
  • Payment details, such as the date and amount of a bank transfer.
  • Messages we send each other by email or WhatsApp.
  • When you visit this website: basic visit information such as the pages you view, your country, your device and browser type, and how you found the site. This is not linked to your name or email address.

The enquiry form has one optional box where you can write a short note about what you would like help with. This may include information about your health. You do not have to fill it in, and a sentence or two is plenty.

3. Why I use it and my legal reasons

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a conversation. My reason is that you asked me to, and I have a legitimate interest in answering. If you write about your health in the enquiry form, I rely on your explicit consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing hello@patternist.co.uk.
  • To provide hypnotherapy. My reason is our agreement. For health information, I ask for your explicit consent.
  • To keep records and accounts, and to meet my professional and legal duties.
  • To see how the website is used and to improve it. My reason is my legitimate interest in running a useful website.

My terms of service explain fees, cancellations and refunds. You can read them at patternist.co.uk/terms.

4. Recording the intake conversation

If you agree, I may record our first intake conversation so that my notes are accurate. Only I listen to it. It is stored securely and I delete the audio within 7 days. Saying no does not change your treatment. You can ask me to pause or stop at any time. I never record the hypnosis itself.

5. Who else handles your information

I use these services to run my practice. They handle information only for the purposes I describe:

  • Tally, for the enquiry form. Data is stored in Europe.
  • Proton, for email and for storing client records. Proton is end-to-end encrypted.
  • Zoom, for online sessions.
  • WhatsApp, for arranging appointments only. Please do not send health details by WhatsApp.
  • Lovable, which hosts this website.
  • My business bank, where I receive payments by bank transfer.
  • Umami, for simple website statistics.

I do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

6. Where your information is stored

Some of these services are based outside the UK. Where this happens, they must protect your information to an equivalent standard, for example through approved safeguards.

7. How long I keep it

I keep client records for 8 years after our last session, then delete them securely. Enquiries that do not lead to a session are deleted after 3 months. Audio recordings are deleted as described above. I read your enquiry in my Tally account and it is not forwarded by email.

8. Your rights

You can ask me to:

  • see the information I hold about you
  • correct anything that is wrong
  • delete your information, unless I need to keep it for legal reasons
  • limit or object to how I use it
  • give you a copy in a usable format
  • withdraw your consent at any time

To do any of these, email hello@patternist.co.uk. I will reply within one month.

9. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how I handle your information, please tell me first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

10. Cookies

This website uses Umami to count visits and see which pages are used. Umami does not use cookies. The site uses only the cookies it needs to work.

11. Changes

I may update this notice. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
